MASALA PAPAD

                                                 MASALA PAPAD
                               (1 Papad)

Masala papad is a crispy papad toped with crunchy fresh vegetables and sprinkled with Indian spices. It makes a very tasty Indian starter.

INGREDIENTS:
·      1 Plain Urad Dal Papad (Masala tastes better on plain papad)
·      Cucumber, peeled and finely diced
·      Onion, finely chopped
·      Tomato, deseeded and finely chopped
·      Green Chili, chopped
·      Coriander Leaves, chopped

FOR GARNISHING (USE AS PER TATSE):
·      Chat Masala
·      Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
·      Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder
·      Black Pepper Powder
·      Salt (NOTE: Chat Masala contains black salt so add accordingly)

LET’S PREPARE:
Roast the papad on an open flame or deep fry in oil.
Let it cool.
Mix all vegetables in a bowl and spread on top of papad.
Mix all the dry spices and sprinkle on papad as per taste.
Serve immediately as roasted papad absorbs moisture immediately from the veggies.
Masala Papad makes a great appetizer.
Enjoy.

TIPS:
Instead of deep-frying, spread little oil on both sides of the papad then press lightly and roast on pan or griddle. It taste almost like a deep fried papad.
You can microwave the papad on high for minute or so. But personally I prefer fire roasted since the slightly burnt papad taste adds extra flavor.
